SummerPrograms.com (“SummerPrograms.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit SummerPrograms.com, submit an inquiry, subscribe to communications, communicate with us, or otherwise use our website and related services collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

1. About SummerPrograms.com

SummerPrograms.com is an online directory and information platform that helps students, parents, guardians, and families discover summer camps, academic programs, enrichment opportunities, travel programs, and other educational or recreational experiences.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, SummerPrograms.com does not own, operate, supervise, or control the programs listed on the website. Program providers are independent organizations responsible for their own programs, enrollment procedures, communications, privacy practices, and handling of personal information.

  • Use provider access to view inquiries or leads; or
  • Otherwise communicate with us.

Providing a student’s age is optional unless otherwise indicated. We do not request the student’s name through our standard program inquiry form.

Program providers may also provide business information, including organization names, representative names, business email addresses, telephone numbers, program descriptions, locations, pricing, dates, photographs, and other listing information.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our general inquiry forms. This includes Social Security numbers, payment-card information, medical records, diagnoses, government identification numbers, passwords, or detailed information about a child’s health, disability, safety, or educational records.

When you visit or use the Services, we and our technology providers may automatically collect information such as:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • Browser and device type;
  • Operating system;
  • Referring and exit pages;

  • Search terms and filters used;
  • Approximate geographic location derived from an IP address;
  • Date, time, and duration of visits;
  • Cookie and device identifiers; and
  • Information about interactions with our website and emails.

We may collect this information using cookies, pixels, tags, server logs, local storage, and similar technologies.

Information Received From Other Sources

We may receive information from:

  • Program providers;
  • Shopify, which hosts and supports portions of our website and communications;
  • Form-processing and lead-delivery service providers;
  • Google Analytics;
  • Email service providers, including Shopify Email;
  • Publicly available websites and directories;
  • Referral sources and business partners; and
  • Other service providers that support our operations.

Program listing information may be provided directly by a program provider or gathered from publicly available sources. The appearance of a listing does not necessarily mean that the provider has a paid or contractual relationship with SummerPrograms.com.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it no longer reasonably identifies a particular individual. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics, reporting, research, marketing, and other lawful business purposes.

4. Program Inquiries and Lead Delivery

When you submit an inquiry about a particular program or organization, you direct SummerPrograms.com to provide the information contained in that inquiry to the selected program provider.

Inquiry information may be:

  • Processed through our website’s form-processing service;
  • Automatically emailed to the applicable program provider; and
  • Stored in a private online document that is shared only with the applicable provider through an authorized provider email address.

Each provider is given access only to inquiries related to its own organization or programs. Providers do not have access to inquiries submitted to other providers.

The program provider may use the information to:

  • Respond to your inquiry;
  • Provide information about its programs;
  • Contact you by email or telephone;
  • Discuss program dates, pricing, availability, enrollment, or eligibility; and
  • Follow up regarding your interest.

We do not currently use inquiry information to authorize providers to send marketing text messages. Providers are responsible for obtaining any consent required before sending text messages or making marketing calls.

Once information is delivered or made accessible to a program provider, that provider may maintain its own copy. Its use, retention, security, and disclosure of the information are governed by its own privacy policy and practices.

SummerPrograms.com does not control and is not responsible for an independent provider’s privacy, data-security, or communication practices. You should review the provider’s privacy policy before submitting an application, completing enrollment, making a payment, or providing sensitive information.

Submitting an inquiry through SummerPrograms.com is not an application, enrollment, reservation, acceptance, or guarantee of admission to a program.

5. Email Communications

We use Shopify Email and related services to send emails, including requested information, administrative communications, newsletters, program recommendations, and promotional messages.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails by selecting the unsubscribe link contained in the email.

Even after unsubscribing from promotional emails, we may continue to send non-promotional communications, including responses to inquiries, security notices, policy notices, and messages concerning an existing provider or business relationship.

Unsubscribing from SummerPrograms.com does not unsubscribe you from communications sent independently by a program provider. To stop those communications, you must contact or unsubscribe from that provider separately.

6. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Services. Google Analytics may collect information such as:

  • Pages visited;

  • Approximate location;
  • Browser and device information;
  • Referring websites;
  • Visit duration; and
  • Other information about interactions with the Services.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize browsers and distinguish users and sessions.

We use Analytics information to evaluate website traffic, improve navigation and content, understand program searches, and measure the general performance of the Services.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, inquiry messages, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.

Your ability to control Analytics cookies depends on your location, browser settings, and the privacy choices made available through the website.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our technology providers use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Operate website functions;
  • Remember user preferences;
  • Maintain website security;
  • Understand how visitors use the Services;
  • Measure website traffic and performance;
  • Improve content and navigation; and
  • Evaluate email and website engagement.

Cookies may be classified as essential, functional, analytics, or marketing cookies depending on their purpose.

Where required, we provide a cookie banner or privacy-preferences tool that allows users to manage nonessential cookies.

Most browsers also allow you to block, delete, or receive notifications about cookies. Blocking cookies may affect the operation of certain website features.

We do not currently use third-party advertising pixels to provide personalized or behaviorally targeted advertisements. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.

8. How We Disclose Personal Information

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or legal process;
  • Respond to a lawful government request;

We may disclose information when you request, direct, authorize, or consent to the disclosure.

9. Provider Access and Responsibilities

Authorized program-provider representatives may receive inquiry information by email and through a private online document shared only with the applicable provider’s authorized email address.

Each provider can access only inquiries related to its own organization or programs.

Providers are expected to:

  • Use inquiry information only for legitimate program-related communications;
  • Limit access to authorized representatives who need the information;
  • Maintain reasonable confidentiality and security safeguards;
  • Avoid sharing, publishing, or using inquiry information for unrelated purposes;
  • Comply with applicable privacy and communications laws; and
  • Delete or securely dispose of information when it is no longer reasonably needed.

SummerPrograms.com may restrict or terminate access if we believe inquiry information has been misused or inadequately protected.

10. Children’s Privacy

SummerPrograms.com provides information about programs that may serve children and teenagers. However, the Services and our inquiry forms are intended to be used by parents, legal guardians, adult students, educators, program representatives, and other individuals age 13 or older.

Children under 13 may not independently submit an inquiry, subscribe to communications, or otherwise provide personal information through the Services. A parent or legal guardian must submit an inquiry on behalf of a child under 13.

Our standard inquiry form may allow a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult to provide a student’s age. Providing the age is optional, and we do not request the student’s name through the standard inquiry form.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without any parental notice or consent required by applicable law. If we learn that a child under 13 has independently provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information to us may contact us using the information below.

When submitting an inquiry concerning a minor, provide only the information reasonably necessary for the provider to respond. Do not include sensitive medical, financial, identity, safety, or educational information in an initial inquiry.

11. Third-Party Websites and Providers

The Services contain links to websites and services operated by independent program providers and other third parties.

We do not control and are not responsible for a third party’s:

  • Website content;
  • Program descriptions or representations;
  • Privacy or security practices;
  • Enrollment procedures;
  • Communications;
  • Prices or availability; or
  • Products and services.

A listing or link does not constitute an endorsement, accreditation, certification, investigation, or guarantee by SummerPrograms.com.

When you visit a third-party website or communicate directly with a provider, your activity is governed by that party’s policies and practices.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

Access to inquiry information is intended to be limited to SummerPrograms.com personnel, service providers, and authorized representatives of the relevant program provider who need the information for legitimate purposes.

However, no website, database, email system, online document, transmission method, or storage platform can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Information is submitted through the Services at your own risk.

Do not submit sensitive or confidential information through general inquiry forms or unencrypted email.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and administer the Services;
  • Deliver and document program inquiries;
  • Maintain provider and business records;
  • Analyze and improve our operations;
  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, and reporting obligations;
  • Resolve disputes;
  • Prevent fraud and misuse; and
  • Enforce our agreements.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the reason it was collected, provider arrangements, and applicable legal requirements.

We may retain aggregated or de-identified information for longer periods.

Program providers may retain their own copies of inquiry information. A deletion request submitted to SummerPrograms.com does not automatically delete information maintained independently by a program provider. You may need to contact the provider separately.

14. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we maintain about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of personal information;
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • Restrict or object to certain processing; and
  • Appeal certain decisions regarding a privacy request.

You may submit a request using the contact information below.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Verification may include confirming the email address or other information associated with an inquiry.

Where permitted, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We may require evidence of the agent’s authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

These rights apply to information controlled by SummerPrograms.com. To exercise rights concerning information maintained independently by a program provider, contact that provider directly.

15. U.S. State Privacy Disclosures

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable law.

We do not knowingly sell personal information in exchange for money.

We also do not currently use personal information for third-party behaviorally targeted advertising. We use Google Analytics to measure and understand website activity. Depending on applicable law and how a technology is configured, some online analytics activities may be treated differently under different state privacy laws.

Where required, we will provide an appropriate privacy-preferences or opt-out mechanism.

We do not knowingly sell or use for targeted advertising the personal information of children or teenagers where affirmative authorization is required by law.

16. International Visitors

SummerPrograms.com is operated from the United States.

If you access the Services from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries in which our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.

Where required by applicable law, we will take appropriate measures relating to international transfers of personal information.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our Services, technologies, providers, business practices, or legal obligations.

When we update the policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. We may provide additional notice when required by law or when changes are material.
